Economy
2013 marks an important year for the Turkish economy. The Turkish bond and equity markets rank near the top of all emerging markets driven, in large part by, rebalancing, unprecedented domestic political stability, and at times by safe haven inflows from other regional markets. Over the last 9 years Turkey’s average annual real GDP growth rate has been 5.2 percent, and analysts expect these trends to continue in 2013. Panels at the 32nd Annual Conference on U.S.-Turkish Relations covering emerging markets, trade, agribusiness, and finance will help shed light on the domestic and international factors driving this projected growth.
