Turkish Airlines was named "Airline of the Year" by the Centre for Aviation (CAPA), a widely respected market analyst and data collector for the worldwide aviation industry. The award was presented at CAPA’s 11th annual Aviation Awards for Excellence ceremony.
Commenting on the award given to Turkish Airlines, CAPA Executive Chairman Peter Harbison stated that “under the strong and visionary leadership of its management and thanks to the dedicated efforts of its employees, Turkish Airlines has forged an industry leading service culture, numerous innovative marketing campaigns and a consistently high quality product offering."
Temel Kotil, CEO of Turkish Airlines, attributed the success of the company to their dedication to make customers happy. “Passengers comes first in our thinking and planning,” he underlined.
A Star Alliance member, Turkish Airlines was also awarded Best Airline in Europe in 2011, 2012 and 2013 by Skytrax, a UK based airline and airport raking site. Today, Turkish Airlines boasts a fleet of 229 aircraft (passenger and cargo) flying to 237 cities around the world, comprised of 41 Turkish and 196 international destinations.
