On September 25, the National American Indian Housing Council (NAIHC) issued a letter to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, congratulating the Turkish people on the occasion of the upcoming 90th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey on October 29. The letter sent to Prime Minister Erdogan commends the efforts by Turkey and Turkish Americans in reaching out to Native Americans. In particular, the NAIHC expressed sincere appreciation for the educational and economic aid initiatives spearheaded by TCA benefitting Native Americans.
Other organizations, which worked in conjunction with TCA and were recognized for their contributions to Native Americans, include the Turkish American Business Association (TABA), the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), the Turkish American Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TACCI), the Turkish American Association of Washington D.C., the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Bahcesehir University and Hacettepe University.
Founded in 1974, the National American Indian Housing Council is the only national organization representing the housing interests of American Indians, Alaska Natives and native Hawaiians.
